Harley Davidson Electra Glide Speedometer Not Working

Ive had many other bikes but new to the Harley and love it.

Harley davidson electra glide speedometer not working. The speedometer needle doesnt go to zero when vehicle stops moving. Look under your speedo head. If there is backlighting enable diagnostic mode and clear codes.

If the speed sensor were the problem the odometer would not work correctly the transmission would not shift correctly and the check engine light would be on. That would cause the speedo to illuminate but not read anything. Clean off any metal shavings on the magnetic sensor Reinstall and see if this fixes your problem.

A stock speedo is held onto the dash plate with 2 E clips. The ECM thinks that the bike is standing still because of no input. Check out the speedo meter itsely something might be wrong inside.

It lights up and the odometer shows mileage but has not changed. If there was not appropriate voltage on the W wire at connector 39B locate and repair an open in the OW wire. I have a 2002 Harley Dynawide glide.
